Sir Sir Alex Ferguson’s wife Lady Cathy Ferguson, who lived with her husband in Wilmslow, Cheshire, passed away in October at the age of 84, leaving behind her three sons, two sisters, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild

The imposing property in Wilmslow, Cheshire, comes complete with a ‘Ferguson clan’ tartan carpet in the games room. It is being offered with no chain. Estate agents say: “This impressive, deceptively spacious detached is…positioned within a very private, gated and secure plot. It boasts approximately 7,000 sq ft.” Pictures of the five-bed house show a home full of family photos and mementos of Sir Alex’s life, a chandelier in the hallway, en-suite bathrooms, and manicured lawns.

Lady Cathy Ferguson died in October aged 84, leaving her husband, three sons, two sisters, 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Sir Alex, 81, who has been listed as a company director at the property, put a snooker table from the games room up for sale in July.

He was among the mourners at Sir Bobby Charlton’s funeral earlier this month. Sir Alex has said his wife, whom he met in 1964, was a “bedrock” in his life. Earlier this month, Sir Alex Ferguson joked that his late wife Cathy “would’ve gone mad” after he spent £650,000 on two horses before winning the Bahrain International Trophy last week.

A stunning staircase leads to the upstairs section of the home. The total size of the home is roughly 7,000 square feet
