Despite his vow that the Yoruba Nation rally will hold in Lagos on Saturday, Sunday Igboho, self-acclaimed Yoruba activist, was nowhere in sight at the venue of the rally on Saturday morning.

Security operatives comprising men of the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army took over the entire stretch of Ojota to prevent the planned Yoruba nation rally.

The security operatives, who had embarked on a show of force on Friday, took over the rally venue very early in the morning.

No fewer than 20 police vans and five Armoured vehicles were stationed in strategic areas of Ojota from Abiola Gardens down to Ojota Total along Ikorodu Road.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, addressed journalists at the venue saying no rally is allowed in Lagos.
