The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr Olumide Akpata, has said it is impossible for the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Abukakar Malami (SAN), to single-handedly amend the 2007 Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners.

The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II has congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata (Esq) describing his emergence as a huge success while praying for divine direction in his term.

Mr. Olumide Akpata has been overwhelmingly elected as the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). He defeated two other contestants who are Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs). With his electoral triumph, Olumide Akpata, who graduated from the University of Benin in 1992 will be the first non-SAN President of the Association in years.
