A 47-year-old man, Abimbola Babatunde, has been arraigned before an Ogba Magistrate’s Court for allegedly robbing the Lagos State Government of N8.9million.
The defendant, a member of the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture cooperative society, Alausa Ikeja, was said to have stolen the money which belonged to the society.
The prosecutor, Insp. Raphael Donny, said the defendant committed the offence between January and December 2017. He also said the offence contravened Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
But Babatunde pleaded not guilty to the two count charge of theft leveled against him.
A.O. Adedayo, granted the defendant a bail of N2million with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till April 9, 2018.
