A Ukrainian Boeing 737 passenger jet has crashed in Iran due to ‘technical problems’
A Ukrainian International Airlines aircraft carrying 180 passengers and crew has crashed after takeoff from Iran’s Imam Khomeini Airport.
Most passengers on board the Ukraine International Airlines flight died, said Pirhossein Koulivand, head of Iran’s Emegency Medical Services.
Emergency crews have been dispatched to the crash site but cannot assist because the area is currently ablaze, Koulivand said on IRINN, a state-run media outlet.
ISNA claims that the aircraft went down due to “technical issues”.
The aircraft crashed moments after takeoff from the Iranian airport.
FlightRadar showed the moment the aircraft lost communication and went down.
