Two women were docked before an Ogba Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos state, for allegedly carrying explosives in a plane.
The suspects; Lucky Alohan, 54, Nwaokoro Samson, 44 are facing a two-count charge of evading the law and illegal possession of dangerous goods
John Odihi, the prosecuting officer, told the court that the suspects on March 30, 2018, between the departure hall and Tarmac of Murtala Muhammed International airport, Ikeja during ‘Air-peace Airline’ loading of passenger cargo\luggage, did evade the law of shipment of dangerous goods by sending explosive substance into the aircraft.
Odihi said the suspects know the substance to be destructive and dangerous to the life and properties of passengers and hereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Sections 411 and 257 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The suspects pleaded not guilty of the charge.
Williams F. the presiding magistrate granted bail of two hundred and fifty thousand naira to the accused with two surety each in like sum.
She gave the conditions that one of the surety must be a manager and the other own a property in Lagos state, also sureties must be gainfully employed with evidence of tax.
The case was adjourned till May 7, 2018.
