Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has bent over backwards to try and fit Pogba into his team, whether that be for the best or not, and it is clear that the English club were desperate not to lose their most expensive ever signing.
L’Equipe reported on Thursday that Pogba now wishes to extend his stay at Manchester United, not least to become the highest paid player in the Premier League.
Agent Mino Raiola has done his best to canvas interest across Europe, although there are very few interested parties who could offer a higher salary than United.
In the same story, L’Equipe detailed that Manchester United‘s owners, the Glazer family, have informed Pogba that they will do whatever it takes financially to keep him.
A salary of upwards of 20 million euros per year would see Pogba eclipse the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and Mohamed Salah in terms of Premier League earners, once again putting United‘s wage bill back to a high level.
