The Niger Delta Avengers on Friday claimed responsibility for the sabotage on Thurday night of NNPC Gas and Crude trunk line in Warri. The militant group has also warned Indigenous Oil Companies (IOC) and the Nigerian Military to watch out: “something big is about to happen and it will shock the whole world”.
The group also described the Niger Delta stakeholders’ meeting which took place in Abuja on Wednesday night at the Transcorp Hilton as “an insult to the people of Niger Delta. What we need is a Sovereign State not pipeline Contracts”
It would be recalled that in a statement released on Thursday May 12, 2016, the NDA gave IOCs two weeks to shut down.
“To owners and operators of these oil blocs in our region the Niger Delta Avengers is giving you two weeks ultimatum to shut down your operations and evacuates your staff. If at the end of the ultimatum and you still operating. We will blow up all the locations. It will be bloody. So just shut down your operations and leave.”
