The police say investigation into a sexual assault case showed a suspect, Sikiru Gbadamosi, had penchant for luring teenage school girls into having sex with him. The 62-year-old suspect, residing at 8 Araromi Street, Beach Area, in the Ikorodu axis of the state, was arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrate Court on a sex assault charge.
During his arraignment, police prosecutor, Sgt. John Iberedem, told the court Gbadamosi would lure the girls with money, ranging between N100 and N1,000 for the sex act.
Iberedem further said the suspect was arrested in March, at about 2 p.m. after having sex with an 11-year-old and 13-year-old teens in his apartment. The lid was blown off Gbadamosi’s alleged act when neighbours suspicious of the girls’ usual visits to the apartment sought to find out their mission.
The girls reportedly confessed the sex romp and the neighbours got the defendant arrested. The police also told the court that the offence contravened Section 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendant, Gbadamosi pleaded “not guilty” to the sexual assault charge.
The Chief Magistrate, F. A. Azeez, granted the accused bail of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
She ruled that the sureties must be of grade level 12 and above and has a land that has Certificate of Occupancy.
Azeez also said that one of the sureties must be his family member who paid tax to the Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case until May 9 for mention.
Gbadamosi risks a life jail, if convicted.
