A Magistrates’ Court in Akure, Ondo State, has ordered the remand of one Isaac Ojo for allegedly killing a trader, Lydia Ayeni, on her farm in Ipe Akoko, in the Akoko South-East Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was said to have raped Ayeni in the bush before killing her on February 28, 2018. The deceased had gone to her farm in the morning but didn’t return. Ayeni’s corpse was reportedly found when a search party was organized to look for her.
“There was blood in her private parts. We saw signs that she struggled with somebody in the bush.
“It was later discovered that it was Ojo that carried out the dastardly act and he was arrested,” Punch quoted a source as saying.
