Kylian Mbappé has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he intends to leave at the end of this season to further his career elsewhere reports The Times
The revelation could spark a transfer scramble with Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid all in the mix.
A vocal admirer of Liverpool’s play under Jürgen Klopp, the 21-year-old France international is understood to have targeted a move to either La Liga or the Premier League.
Mbappé was signed from AS Monaco in 2018 for around £165 million. His transfer fee remains the second highest ever paid for a footballer, and the highest for a teenager.
The striker passed on lucrative offers from Real Madrid and Manchester City in order to continue his development in French football, signing a five-year contract with the Qatar-owned club.
Mbappe is thought to have an interest in playing for the Red Devils while previously revealing his admiration for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.
He said in January: “What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing.
“They’re like a machine, they’ve found a rhythm and are like ‘we play again, we play again’.
“When you watch you think everything’s easy, but that’s not easy.
“The guys are focused, they play games every three days and they win, they win, they win.
