An Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has refused an application by members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra seeking the nullification of the proscription order made against the group on September 20.
Members of IPOB had approached the court after it made an order proscribing the group as a terror organisation last September.
Justice Adamu Kafarati, in a ruling on an application by the group, held that the proscription order was validly made.
Yerima Justice Kafarati held that IPOB’s application, seeking the vacation of the proscription order was unmeritorious and deserved to be dismissed. The judge awarded N500,000 cost against IPOB. The group’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said the ruling will be appealed.
