Herdsmen Kill Two Policemen Drafted To Keep Surveillance In Benue

Two of the policemen drafted to keep surveillance on the troubled Logo LGA of Benue State, have been killed.
The state Police Public Relation Officer, Moses Yamu, confirmed the killings and said another mobile policeman who sustained gunshot wound is receiving treatment at the Benue State University Hospital in Makurdi.

According to Yamu, the mobile policemen were members of a special security force deployed to Logo LGA following the herdsmen killings in the area. He said the herdsmen attacked the mobile policemen camp in Awashua village.

He added that: “When the policemen over powered the militia men, they beat a retreat and ambushed the policemen where two officers were shot and killed. Their riffles were also taken away.”
