The Former Interim Managing Director of the Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Dr. Joi Nunieh has accused the Minister of Niger-Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment and that she slapped him.
She made the allegation in an interview with ARISENEWS on Monday. The interview was sequel to an earlier one by Senator Akpabio during which he accused her of many things including not performing the National Youth Service.
Dr. Nunieh stated that Senator Akpabio always invited her for meetings in his guesthouse and Le-Meridien Hotel and that she consistently told him that official meetings should hold in the office.
She further alleged that on one instance he harassed her sexually and that she had no choice but to slap him and that is why Akpabio came out to accuse her of being temperamental.
It would be recalled that in his interview, Senator Akpabio alleged that Dr. Nunieh had married four times and that it is a testament to her character.
Responding, Dr. Nunieh stated that she had not been married four times and that she has briefed her lawyers to sue Akpabio for defamation of character.
She also asked why Akpabio was only interested in the number of times she had married.
“Does he want to be my fifth husband”, she queried.
Asked why she did not report when harassed, she said “many women are harassed every day, I was not helpless, I handled it”.
She also stated that contrary to what Akpabio has been telling the world, no forensic audit going on at NDDC.
She therefore called on President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the claim that the forensic audit is going on.
Real revelations.
