An excited football fan celebrated England thrashing Germany by stripping naked and running through a town centre.

While many will remember where they were when they witnessed England’s 2-0 win over Germany in Euro 2020 on Tuesday night, some people in Goole, Hull, may have a different memory.

Dressed in only a pair of trainers to accompany his birthday suit, the streaker was spotted running along Boothferry Road following the historic win.

A video later surfaced on Twitter of a car following the bare-bottomed fan with the classic Three Lions tune blaring out, Hull Live reports.

One resident said: “I just couldn’t believe it. It came out of nowhere and cars were following him, shouting something about England.”

It is not known if the man had lost a bet, or if he was just enjoying a spur-of-the-moment celebration.

But it wasn’t just in Goole that merrymaking could be witnessed, as England fans climbed traffic poles in Trafalgar Square and statues in Piccadilly Circus in the heart of London.

They tore through the streets across England and filled the nation’s pubs with the Three Lions chorus.

However England fans may need to think twice about flying to Rome due to Covid restrictions – but a loophole could mean they can still watch the game if they arrive by road.

Italy’s rules on isolation mean that anyone flying out even on Wednesday morning will miss England’s Euro 2020 quarter-final clash with Ukraine as they will have to spend five days in quarantine – so they wouldn’t be allowed out until Sunday.

If they can go by road there is a 36-hour period when people can enter without isolating.

But the FA has said it will not be selling tickets for the match to the England Supporters Travel Club (ESTC) – the official body of away support – due to Covid-19 restrictions.
