The Edo State Caucus of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has voided the suspension order handed down on Hon. Samson Osagie and 30 others from Uhunmwode LGA of the state. At a State Caucus meeting held at the residence of former Governor Oshiomhole on 17th July 2017 , the leadership advised the parties to come together having found that the decision to suspend the persons was misplaced.
This followed the adoption a report of the committee headed by Distinguished Senator Domingo Obende which investigated the allegations of anti party activities against Hon Samson Osagie and 30 others.
The committee in its report noted that the allegations of anti party against the suspended persons were baseless and unfounded. The committee advised that the purported suspension by Hon. Charles Idahosa and his group was in bad fate as it could not establish any rational for a disciplinary action. The committee also noted that the suspension did not follow the Constitutional procedure for discipline of erring party members.
The Committee recommended that those who were suspended have not been treated fairly and that the state government should find a way to compensate them particularly with some appointments.
Recall that Hon. Samson Osagie and 30 others were purportedly suspended on March 31, 2017 by a notice signed by Chief Osaro Odah acting on a fake resolution of the Uhunmwode stakeholders meeting held sometimes in November 2016.
However with the intervention of the state Caucus under the leadership of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole it is hoped that peace will return to the party in Uhunmwode Local Government Area.
