Dr Iyayi Efianayi (MFR), a prominent Edo State born business tycoon and philanthropist has transited to the great beyond. He was 87 years old
According to a terse statement authorized by his eldest child, Dr. Caesar Osaheni Iyayi, Chairman/CEO, Caesar Engineering and construction limited, he died on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in France while in transit from the United States of America where he went for medical checkup.
Tributes are already pouring in for the preeminent Nigerian whose benevolence ensured that many citizens of the country had access to western education.
According to a former member of Edo State House of Assembly and Federal House of Representatives, Barrister Samson Osagie, “Baba Iyayi ” Egba” Efianayi, JP, MFR, our father, benefactor, man of God, philanthropist, helper of the helpless, Joseph of Egbaland, can’t believe this day has finally come. We wish you could tarry a little while. We are in tears and agony. But we thank God for the life of sacrifice you led. Adieu papa Rest in the bosom of the Lord”.
Also expressing grief on the death of the renowned Christian, whose love for God drew many Nigerians into the Christian fold, the Chairman of Egba Development Organisation, Lagos Branch, Mr. Frederick Onaghise listed his contributions to Egba Community in Edo State to include the electrification of the community and building of a secondary school, Egba Grammar School in the town resulting in the massive education of the members of the community.
Onaghise thanked God Almighty for his exemplary life and prayed that his soul rest in perfect peace
