The stage is set for the inauguration of the Bayelsa State governor-elect, Senator Douye Diri, in the Government House, Yenagoa, today (Friday).

The Supreme Court yesterday (Thursday) sacked the All Progressives Congress governor-elect in Bayelsa State, David Lyon, and his running mate, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, and pronounced the Peoples Democratic Party candidates, Douye Diri, and his running mate, Lawrence Ewrujakpor, as the winners of the election held in the state.

Meanwhile, protesters, Friday stormed Diri’s house and vandalized his properties.

Vehicles at Diri’s home at Imgbi Road, Amarata, Yenagoa, were destroyed with stones and hard substances.

His building according to Punch was not spared either. The window glasses as seen in the photo were destroyed.

On the other hand, thousands of women took to the streets blocking major roads to protest the judgement insisting that no handover of power would be conducted in the state without Lyon.
