Another missing Chiobk girl has been found by the Nigerian Army in Sabisa forest.

The Army Spokesperson, Colonel Usman Sani Kukasheka confirmed the rescue of another Chibok Girl this evening.

This is coming after the rescue of Amina Ali who was flown to Abuja today where she met with President Muhammadu Buhari at Aso Villa.

According to the Army Spokesperson, her name is Sarah Luka, who is believed to be the daughter of Pastor Luka, one of the parents of the missing girls.

Col. Kukasheka said last night that the girl is number 157 on the list of the 219 Chibok girls in captivity.

She was a Junior Secondary School 1 student at the time of her abduction.

A statement signed by Col. Kukasheka said: “At about 11.00am yesterday, Thursday, 19th May 2016, troops of 231 Battalion, 331 Artillery Regiment (AR), Detachment of Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF) 2, Explosive Ordinance (EOD) Team and Civilian Vigilante group of Buratai, conducted clearance operations at Shettima Aboh, Hong and Biladdili general area in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

“During the operations, the troops killed 35 Boko Haram terrorists and recovered several arms and ammunitions and other items. In addition, they rescued 97 women and children held captives by the Boko Haram terrorists.

“We are glad to state that among those rescued is a girl believed to be one of the Chibok Government Secondary School girls that were abducted on 14th April 2014 by the Boko Haram terrorists.

“Her name is Miss Serah Luka, who is number 157 on the list of the abducted school girls. She is believed to be the daughter of Pastor Luka.

“During debriefing the girl revealed that she was a JSS1 student of the school at the time they were abducted.

“She further added that she hails from Madagali, Adamawa State. She averred that she reported at the school barely two months and one week before her unfortunate abduction along with other girls over two years ago.

“She added that there other three girls who fled from Shettima Aboh when the troops invaded the area earlier today which led to their rescue.

“She is presently receiving medical attention at the medical facility of Abogo Largema Cantonment, Biu, Borno State.”

The rescue of another of the 219 girls abducted by Boko Haram insurgents on April 14, 2014 in Chibok, Borno State came amid the excitement of the return of Amina Ali, who yesterday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Villa in Abuja.

  9. True, but the identity has not been confirmed!

  10. OUR NORTH IS LOSING ITS MIND TO ISLAM…
HOW DID THE GREAT BORNO EMPIRE LOSE ITS MIND AND YOUTHS TO BOKO HARAM?

How so bad ALKASSIM USMAN that many innocents are paying for the misdeeds of BOKO HARAMERS!

I wish the North could have a more culturally moderated Islam. A more temperate Islam Not this dominant political Islam of the aggressive Fulani culture that came into the Nigerian area in the 19th century with its Fulani jihad that disturbed the peace. of the North when they had enjoyed their first Kanuri brand of Islam of the10th and 11th centuries on and the added peaceful Islamic influence of the Malian traders of the 15th century in Hausa land..

This violently installed Fulani Islam that took their thrones and territories, this their Fulani emirates brand of Islam remain huge burden for them. Though it must be said for the Fulani as with the Arabs that they are all responding TO THE COMBATIVE VIOLENT TEMPLATE OF PROPHET MOHAMMED.

From precolonial times when their leaders requested the British colonialists to spare them of their British education to Boko Haram coming now to re-enforce and re-establish that firm statement of rejection a century or so after. What a sad irony of history.

This was the same Islamic culture that chased away the rabid Fulani political Islam of Uthman Dan Fodio by their great adopted warrior King from their sister state of Kanem, El-Kanemi after whom their football club is now so well-named but without the warrior’s great exploit. El-Kanemi withstood and warded off the Fulani brand of Islam that has since remained the doom of the North and is now dooming the Nigerian nation.

The most painful part for me is that it is happening in Borno, the land of Africa’s longest lasting 1000 years great empire with the earliest 9th century written record of their history; many centuries before most of the South of Nigeria could ever boast of literate education let alone a written communication kept across time. Most of the South never began having written history by outsider until around the 15th century. BUT SEE WHERE THEY BOTH STAND TODAY IN MODERN HISTORY.

Northerners have badly squandered their greatly inherited heritage. Their case is sadly that of FATHERS WHO REMAIN BETTER THAN THEIR CHILDREN. May they be inspired to change this tragic misfortune with a different brand of Islam. Or a co-habitation of flowering religions.
