Presidency confirms 21 released Chibok girls, to be received by Osinbajo

The presidency has confirmed that 21 out of the over 200 adopted Chibok girls have been released. Vice President Yemi Osnbajo is slated to receive the girls in Abuja since the President is out of the country.

According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu,  “It is confirmed that 21 of the missing Chibok Girls have been released and are in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.

“The Director-General, Malam Lawal Daura just finished briefing the President H.E MUHAMMADU Buhari. “The release of the girls, in a limited number is the outcome of negotiations between the administration and the Boko Haram brokered by the International Red Cross and the Swiss government. The negotiations will continue.

“The President welcomes the release of the girls but cautioned Nigerians to be mindful of the fact that more than 30,000 fellow citizens were killed via terrorism.

“Malam Daura wants the girls to have some rest, with all of them very TIRED coming out of the process before he hands them over to the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

“The President takes off shortly on a trip to Germany for a state visit. The names of the released girls follow shortly”, Shehu said.

  1. The chibok girls things started with one Mr Buhari and it should as well end with him that shouldn’t be our cup of tea. The chibok girls if at all there was any was a political plan by the Northerner to dislodged Good Luck Jonathan from power and the plan was successfully executed and now it is time to release them in batches from where they were kept. We don’t need an eagle eyes to identify a child’s that spent two years in the bush do we? Those children that i saw on the picture were never in the bush Buhari and his Apc should look for a better lies to tell us since they cannot face the hardship and frustrations they brought upon us.
