Former President Jonathan returns to Nigeria

Spread the love

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday returned to Nigeria after a month’s trip to the United Kingdom and Côte d’Ivoire.

Some Nigerians took to the social media, especially twitter to  react to his arrival. A hashtag  #GEJWhileYouWereAway has been created for his return to Nigeria.

It was gathered that the former President arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Wednesday before heading for his country home in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that Jonathan arrived at Otuoke at 9pm.

A report by Thisday  newspaper had indicated that Jonathan had been given asylum in that Francophone country for fear of being arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission .

But on May 23 Jonathan had denied the report saying, “I’m not on exile. I have no cause to go on exile. It is a wicked and malicious report.”

  1. A clear conscience fears no accusation. Brig Tunde Idiagbon, the second in command to Gen Buhari in 1985 was in Saudi Arabia when Gen Babaginda overthrew them in a military coup. He had the option of remaining there but boldly returned to Nigeria to face any trial. That is how it should be if your conscience is clear. The wicked flee when no man pursueth but the righteous are bold as a lion.

  2. Seeing Jonathan alone, IS like seeing food and life.
    Welcome odozi obodo .

  3. You’re welcome Mr president

  4. welcome back Sir! to God be the glory!!!!

  5. You are highly welcome sir!!

  6. Good you are back. Clear your table before these your former workers mess you up.

  7. Thank God The President for once us learning from his mistakes by recognizing the huge sacrifice Jonathan made for this nation. Even though it is coming a little late, it is better late than never, I therefore for once salute his courage and celebrate such statesmanship. For those of us out there who out of hatred and careless animosity think Jonathan will be imprisoned, I think its time you begin to be resourceful and productive in your way of thinking. It is because by your conduct you have openly displayed that you value war than peace, may you not experience the war you call for by not been wise enough to appreciate what God used Jonathan to do for this nation. Presently many of you are experiencing just hardship of dehumanizing impact and you can feel the pinch. What would have happened if Jonathan did otherwise and eventually there is the outbreak if war? Do you think you will not experience twenty times of what you are experiencing now? Please in our so called foolishness all in the name of blind and misguided support for this administration while we think we are running Jonathan down, let us be careful so that we don’t further insult the wisdom of God which will attract great penalty.

    • Good talk @ Nworah- Chukwu gozie gi.

    • Thank you so much. It is well.

    • In as much as I agree with the uncommon courage of Jonathan to have conceded defeat after the election, I think and totally believe that Jonathan mismanaged Nigeria during the period of his presidency. Nigeria treasury was wickedly looted with impunity under his watch.History will remember Jonathan as the president that open our CBN to thieves and rogues in government. They shared Nigeria commonwealth among themselves as if there’s no government.

    • I think you are in the dark if you have not seen the list of corrupt past leaders in this country. The problem of mismanagement came about because of the greediness on the path of our past leaders. When those governors demanded for the sharing of the excess crude shavings, Jonathan refused hut they went to court and the supreme court granted judgement in their favour. The next Jonathan took was invite all the past leaders which Bihari himself was among. Many of these past leaders including Bihari did not reprimand the governors neither did they kick against it. Then, Amechi knowing he was to leave PDP and decamped to APC connived with Fashola and Oshinmole to abuse and insult President Jonathan. They were sharing the money but little did know that days. Times and season of want of and lack of this magnitude would emerged. The so called corruption that this administration is using to conceal its cluelessness and gross incompetence only came up when the issue of book haram emerged. It became possible because of the rebellion initiated by APC and northern leaders and elders. They think they were undoing Jonathan but themselves. So be informed.

    • WELL SAID BROS @ ROBINSON. 4 OTHER SENTIMENTAL FELLOWS, THEY SHOULD NOT BORTHER WITH THEIR HATE, ONE THING I AM SURE OF IS THAT, WHEN GOD GIVES YOU A GOOD GIFT & U MISUSE OR REJECT DUE TO SOME TRIVIAL UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES HARDLY WORTH NOTICING, THE SAME GOD WIL REPLACE SUCH GIFT WITH D OPPOSITE SO THAT HE CAN BE APRECIATED. MAY D END, JUSTFY D MEANS.

  8. GEJ the one we no,,, sir we need u back cos so call change as spoiled Nigeria, our eyes have open to see ur good work when u were on power. May God bless u and ur family sir.

  9. You never fully appreciate something until you lose it.

  10. tell him to go back before EFCC

    • I come with your money ooh.

    • U r nt ashamed of urself.By d tym d Buhari leaves office, let us knw if he will b globally respected d way GEJ is nw.He is nw more popular worldover after leaving office. If u like call him names,bt no Nigerian President after Zik is respected like him nw.Dats what u cant take away frm.

    • That is what u think @kanu nonso

    • #kanu they honor him bcoz he make them rich and he broke this country into five

    • Bala u can’t see better tin in life.

    • Bala u can’t be like him even ur generation

    • Bokohari will be awarded for killing innocent protesters.

    • I really wish Buhari would have the nerve to use EFCC to probe Jonathan. Then this wonderfully quiet ex president would let many worms out of the can. Do you know that those quiet people are dangerous? Why do you think he came back to the country against many people’s expectation? Is it not because there are some things at his disposal that if let loose, could burry his accusers for ever? Do you think he does not know what he is doing?

    • @5oodfriday u know that hausas dnt think by themselves, they rely on informations their elites deposites on their brains,so since their elites hv succeeded in telling them that jonathans gov is corrupt that’s the only message every one of them is preaching yes or no.but mind u that Jonathan is not convicted of any corrupt charge but even in the midst of hunger instituted by their clueless idi amin of Uganda, they still believe the distraction of corruption beign the excess of non performance of buhari.tv u now seen why killing and inheritng the kingdom of virgins to an average hausa is still a truth, what kind of zombies?its unfortunate that we are leaving together with such creation

    • See as He ugly, mumu like he name, bala!!,na person dey bear that tin??

  11. PRESIDO U WELCOM TO UR FADA LAND

  12. he don carry our money come back.

  13. THEY WANT 2 USE HIM 2 PACIFY D ‘ N. D. A. F’ . DIARIZ GOD O O. GOODLUCK NIGERIA.

  14. I will never be a party to a man who messed up the future of my country because of his inactivity. The man was defeated in a free and fair election and he had no other choice than to vacate the seat, I do not see any big deal in that. For as long as I know GEJ represents failure.

  15. Godbless u jona…we luv u..

  39. Suleiman Ibrahim see how myopic u are.Every single tarred road or development in d north is money from oil of d Niger Delta, yet ur aren’t appreciative of d fact that just one president came from that region.what has your House thieves who has been ruling Nigeria done for u than highest level of Illiteracy and boko haram.Jonathan gave Hausa’s what he couldn’t give to his people just for peace to reign, yet u raise ur mouth on him.I haven’t seen any race as greedy, dishonest, evil and wicked as Hausa thieves. Now ur in power d only gift or thanks u have for Nigeria is Fulani herdsmen killing of innocent Nigerian’s that gave you power.Every problem and trouble is linked to you, cant u repent? If you don’t repent Gods anger is on d way for you, surely u can’t escape.

  40. Where is the EFCC now? Have they suddenly forgotten themselves? The man is highly respected abroad but here in Nigeria the reverse is the case!

  41. My Hero don’t mind buhari he s a confused man and his apc we are all watchn

  42. Never the les Nigeria had being into this rubbish selfish ambition for long, if you can not forget the past you can never get to your destination. if we love our Nation we wil be working for the progress of the Nation, I PERSONALLY WELCOME OUR FORMER PRESIDENT, ( GEJ) AND WISHING OUR PRESENT PRESIDENT SUCCESS FOR THE BEST OF THE NATION NIGERIA MY COUNTRY.

  43. Despite all odds welcome back to your father’s Land. You are a true Son of the Niger – Delta. You were only surrounded by gultons

  44. Instead of Nigerians celebrates his arrival

  45. Of what benefit is Jona arival to Nigerian, l hope EFCC will swing into action and get him arested for aiding the looting of our treasury which has disterbilise the nation finnantialy

  46. Kabiru Abubakar, it is ur soul that is wanted by d devil n u are also from West Germany just like ur boy Muhamadu Buhari, when was ur miserable Nigeria better than when GEJ was d president he increase salaries, build railways, restored abandoned refineries which MB can not maintain, created ministries n paras taters, institution just to better ur Nigeria yet u hate him n blackmail him with corruption why ? b/c u know that there is nothing like one Nigeria u know he is from d former Eastern Region n he is nothing but ur slave so u want to kill him but it is ur souls that will be destroyed b/c it was u northerners that stole all d necessities of d nation for 96 yrs b/4 GEG came .what can MB do pls also tell ur boy MB that he should look for other source of income apart from oil and run his country THAT IS CHANGE he can not do what others did n shout change also tell him that if He MB, Tinubu, Amaechi, can walk on street freely then every corrupt person should b dancing on street cos these boys are not just corrupt but FANTASTICALLY CORRUPT

  47. Well cm sir bt u wl explain the meaning of boko haram for us

  48. Many of you that cannot control your wife and two children would sit at one corner of your room to rain insults at a world recognized leader. Have you been able to manage your wife? What of that your rebellous child? You that is yet to marry, how many relationships have you had? If you are a good leader, why did you not manage that relationship till it results in marriage? You have never been in Aso Rock, and you may never be. You don’t know what is happening there. So stop throwing stones at GEJ.

  49. Dear President Mohammedu Buhari you are the President of the entire Nigeria. Your frequent cancellation of trips to the southern part of the country is sending a wrong signal. You cancelled an important visit to lagos for a flimsy reason only for pictures to be put out showing you in a happy mood in your office.

Now again it is rumored that you are going to pass on a good opportunity to assure the people of the Niger Delta that you mean well for them. I doubt if your handlers are wise. Your perception managers ought to tell you that slowly but gradually you are loosing the people.

In my capacity as a credible voice in opposition but one who wishes you to succeed for our nation must make progress. I want to advice you to review things. There are a few good strategic thinkers in your party that my numerous engagements have made me respect. You need to bring them in. You cannot apply the military on civilians especially what occurred with the agitators of Biafra. That is not the solution.

I get your position not to compromise the cooperate existence of our beloved country but you must give the south easterners a sense of belonging. As for the Niger Delta until we solve the environmental degradation problems it will be a reoccurring challenge.

In this regard you are better off calling their local leaders to help out. This is not the time to grandstand and act marcho. Your Excellency I trust you are in good health. Have a safe trip to Senegal.

    Yours faithfully

  50. Ur welcome man of the man

  51. THE BEST ZOO MANAGER, NIGERIA NEVER HAD, YOU ARE WELCOME SIR.

  52. Gej all the way… Hero of our time

  53. You are welcome to your homeland

  54. Oga we stil need u more for dis contry ur wrk is stil reman sir pls cm 2019 my oga Jonathan Ebele

  55. Jonathan is de best presdent for dis Nig

  56. The Father Of Looters, bokoharam, donkeys Of Biafra, has Comeback And Efcc Are Waiting For You

  57. Na wa o! See as d Ibos dey support GEJ.This man country men sef no support him like this bcos dey no enjoy any meaningful developmental project under his government. ‘GEJ’ no be Ibo,na South South frm totally different ethnic group & d Ibos dey align with him?instead of fighting for themselves.Let any political party nominates a credible Ibo man as Presidential candidate & I ‘Said Lawal’ will cast my vote for him but how would that happen?when most of d Ibo leaders are so selfish that they only care about themselves all alone & put some people in d front line to agitate for Biafra.Again, how will that happen when d northern vote is also needed to win d general election. So,it’ll take a long time in my view for an Ibo man to b d President of this great nation.Even d issue of Biafra will never see the light of the day as it did not happen during GEJ.

  58. Lukeman Hashim if care is not taken ur caring bomb under d veil covering your face.mumu that ur Allah is already killing you.fool.

  59. Said A.Lawal u are not totally wrong but I bate u when God decide,d north will b sleeping and Igbo’s will take honor.Did they deliberately support Obasanjo but because of d mightiness of God,North gave him power and regreted latter. So shall it b for Igbo’s because God can do all things. When God b for Igbo’s no one can b against. So Igbo’s are not sycophant or tribalistic in nature,so let it not baffle u why we support GEJ.He doesn’t need to b Igbo or Yoruba to b loved.

  60. Wqelcome de hero of our own time, stil de Nigeria president til 2moro

  61. Jonathan your popularity is everlasting, your name follows you ,don’t mind APC with their badluck, I expected them to blame you for the fall in the price of oil.

  62. Those of you raining insult on GEJ, do u pple forgot that the work GEJ did is what we are still enjoying till now. Your so called Messiah has refused to work yet apportioning blames on the past govt . for good one year.”a bad work man always complain of his tools,” PMB this is the sit of presidency work now or the blood of goat and the blood RAM will flow. After one year nothing has been done by this administration and you blind fools are still wallowing in a perpetual darkness in bringing Nigeria backwards, a govt full of lies and incompetencies. PMB, as
u have failed Nigerians, I am not surprised cos from the onset I know that you can only think backwards as an old man with empty brain without economic plans. The last administration left $30b for you yet Nigeria is broke, you have traveled round the globe, yet Nigeria is broke, you have given to states a bail out money as soon as you assumed office, yet Nigeria is broke. The time is come for a pay back, do not trow stone if you are living in a glass house.

  63. come and tell your boys to stop the evil act you orchestrated if not nigeria will soon level that entire region
